The reserve covers 700 square miles of magnificent wilderness. It is the Africa of the imagination; endless reaches of acacia-dotted grasslands studded with hazy hills. It is in the Mara that perhaps the most spectacular event of the natural world takes place. This is the annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture. Following on their heels are the predators of the savanna- lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vultures

HIGHLIGHTS Our 12 Days Kenya & Tanzania Wildlife Safari takes you to the most famous game parks in Africa. Masai Mara Game Reserve which is the most popular tourism destination in Kenya. Located in the Great Rift Valley in primarily open grassland. Wildlife is most concentrated on the reserve’s western escarpment. Its regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife Viewing areas. The annual wildebeest’s migration alone involves over 1.5 million animals arriving in July and departing in November. Hardly can a visitor miss to spot the big five. The phenomenal wildbeeste migration which is a spectacular event only seen in Masai mara is the the wonder of the world. Lake Nakuru National Park, found in the foot of the great rift valley has an elevation of 1754 meters above sea level, is home to stunning flocks of lesser and Greater Flamingos, which literally turn the lake-shores in to a magnificent pink stretch. This is the only park you are asured of seeing the rhinos in black and white and the Rothschild Giraffe. Amboseli National Park is situated in Loitoktok District, Rift Valley Province of Kenya. Amboseli National Park ecosystem is mainly savannah grassland spread across the Kenya -Tanzania border, an area of low scrubby vegetation and open grassy plains, all of which makes for easy game viewing. It is the best place in Africa to get close to free-ranging elephants, which are for sure a breath-taking sight to behold, whereas various African lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and other species can also be spotted, offering spectacular photographic experiences. Tarangire National Park offers an unparalleled game viewing, and during the dry season elephants abound. Families of the pachyderms play around the ancient trunks of baobab trees and strip acacia bark from the thorn trees for their afternoon meal. Breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe and the mountains in the south make a stopover at Tarangire a memorable experience. Herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem. The Serengeti National Park is home to the greatest wildlife spectacle on earth – the great migration of wildebeest and zebra. The resident population of lion, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, and birds is also impressive. There’s a wide variety of accommodation available, from luxury lodges to mobile camps. The park covers 5,700 sq miles, (14,763 sq km), it’s larger than Connecticut, with at most a couple hundred vehicles driving around. It’s classic savannah, dotted with acacias and filled with wildlife. The western corridor is marked by the Grumeti River, and has more forests and dense bush. The north, Lobo area, meets up with Kenya’s Masai Mara Reserve, is the least visited section. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. Forming a spectacular bowl of about 265 square kilometres, with sides up to 600 metres deep; it is home to approximately 30,000 animals at any one time. The Crater rim is over 2,200 metres high and experiences its own climate. From this high vantage point it is possible to make out the tiny shapes of animals making their way around the crater floor far below. The crater floor consists of a number of different habitats that include grassland, swamps, forests and Lake Makat (Maasai for ‘salt’) – a central soda lake filled by the Munge River. All these various environments attract wildlife to drink, wallow, graze, hide or climb.

Verified Wonderful 12 Day Kenya/Tanzania safari when Nancy organises all of it. After a failed 2023 attempt (due to eVisa stuff-ups), we finally completed a wonderful 12 Day Luxury Kenya and Tanzania safari organised by Nancy. The accommodation in Kenya was wonderful, the scenery and animals were great (as the animals had been migrating from Tanzania) , the 4WD vehicle was comfortable and had no problems, the food (including the lunch boxes) was very good and the driver was very friendly and informative (when he did not use his mobile phone). We chose to include the Masai Mara village tour (but we were charged $30 not $15) and the Lake Naivasha tour (definitely worth more than $40 as the wildlife and scenery was spectacular). Things started to go a little wrong in Tanzania as Africa Venture Safaris had contracted a local tour agency (Seven Wonders) so we had to use a public bus (not the advertised private transfer) to travel from the border crossing to Arusha and 3 lodges were substituted for lower-grade lodges including a fixed tent lodge (I was actually quite impressed with this accommodation). The 4WD vehicle was sub-standard: the battery was dead on the 1st day necessitating multiple push-starts by people or other vehicles, it was rusting, it had many bald tires, a window dropped into the frame every day and the engine light illuminated on the last day requiring us to use a 2nd vehicle to reach our destination. The driver was very good and apologetic about the problems we experienced. I hold Seven Wonders tour company responsible for these multiple problems as Nancy did not know about them until we communicated via email. It was pleasing that Nancy was able to provide solutions to the problems we experienced in Tanzania. Michael W2024-09-17Verified Amazing experience We liked our 6-day tour very much. Our driver-guide (Bonnie, hi!) was always trying to show us EVERYTHING, it seems we saw every animal in every park we went to (Masai Mara, Nakuru, Naivasha, Amboseli)! It was an incredible, unforgettable experience. Also, the atmosphere in the company is always vital to us. Diana and everyone were friendly and helpful, simply nice people with whom we felt absolutely safe and comfortable. Things to know before the tour: there is no sense in taking 1-2 days tours because the distance between parks is huge, it's much better to go to every park for a couple of nights. Also, take something to amuse yourself in the car, since car rides take significant time. Get binoculars with you, and do not wear white clothes to safari, it's a very dusty experience) Take cash (in shillings everything was cheaper than in dollars, but locals prefer dollars), there are many beautiful things to buy. Olena K2024-02-07Verified Absolutely Amazing Africa Adventure Safari is an amazing group. My wife, my father-in-law, and myself had the best experience ever! They took care of us from day 1 to day 8. We had the best driver in all of Africa not just Kenya. He ensured we saw every animal including the black rhino. He went above and beyond all of our expectations. We went during the raining season so some roads were washed out. Definitely was able to do more and see more with less tourist. So much enjoyment. Remember to bring cookies or candies for the children of the tribes. Ask the tribes permission first. We weren't allowed to personally hand them to the children but the tribe leader called all the children and gave it to them so we could see their faces. They loved fig Newton's.
